Your financial conscience in WhatsApp

You already know
where it went.
That's not the problem.

The act of typing "lunch 280 Swiggy" is a small moment of noticing. That noticing — not the report it produces — is what actually changes how you spend. All of it, in the WhatsApp chat you already have.

Your bank already
tracks everything.
Nothing has changed.

Every competitor is racing to remove friction — your bank SMS auto-read, your transactions auto-categorised, you never have to think about it. The research says that's exactly the problem. Frictionless tracking gives you a report. It does not give you awareness.

When you type "lunch 280 Swiggy", you're not just logging. You're acknowledging. That four-second pause between spending and recording is the behaviour-change mechanism. The moment you choose to notice is the moment you're capable of choosing differently.

Budgy also knows when to encourage you. When you're ahead of pace with payday around the corner, it tells you. When you're 40% above baseline with 18 days to go, it tells you that too. The signal — positive or corrective — delivered at the right moment, is what makes new habits actually stick.

Three texts.
That's the whole setup.

01

Log it — intentionally

Text, photo, receipt, bank SMS screenshot, PDF statement — Budgy reads all of it. The friction of typing is the point. Four seconds of noticing does more than any auto-sync ever will.

02

It knows your real cycle

Not the calendar month. Your actual salary cycle — because your budget doesn't reset on the 1st. Summaries, baselines, and nudges all respect when your money actually arrives.

Cycle: Mar 27 → Apr 28 · ₹14,280

03

Hear from it early

Smart nudges, timed to your real spend pace. Not a notification you swipe away — a message from something that knows your full history and speaks plainly about what it sees.

⚠ 40% above pace · 18 days to payday

Quietly doing a lot.
Loudly when it matters.

Most of what Budgy does runs in the background. It shows up in your WhatsApp when something actually needs your attention.

📥

Logs anything you throw at it

Text, photo, bank SMS screenshot, receipt image, PDF statement. If a transaction happened, Budgy can capture it — including smart deduplication when you import a PDF you've already partially logged.

🔔

Smart nudges. All context-aware.

Daily logging reminder, evening check-in, 3-day lapse nudge, overspend alert, smart pace nudge, Friday digest with bar chart, and a pre-statement alert so you never lose interest-free days on your credit card.

Anomaly detection

Detects 3× category spikes, largest-ever single expenses, and unusually large unknowns — before they blur into the noise of your monthly total. You see it the same day.

💳

Billing cycle intelligence

Ask "when should I buy a laptop?" and Budgy will tell you the right card and how many interest-free days you'd get. It knows your statement dates and thinks about the calendar so you don't have to.

💬

A conscience you can talk to

Ask "how much on Swiggy this month?" or say "fix all the Other category entries" — Budgy understands and acts. It has your full spending history as context for every reply.

📊

Salary-cycle summaries

Cycle-labelled summaries (Mar 27 → Apr 28, not "April"), discretionary vs committed split, weekly bar chart delivered to your chat every Friday. The picture you actually need, not a calendar-month lie.

Embarrassingly
affordable.

No VC money. No freemium bait. Just a fair price for something that actually works — and a Google Sheet you own outright.

Good questions.

Those tools track after the fact. The value they sell is convenience — they handle it so you don't have to think. That's exactly the problem. Spending awareness built through deliberate, manual logging is associated with better financial behaviour. The friction is the feature. Budgy is for people who want to be conscious about money, not just informed about it retroactively.

No. Budgy lives in WhatsApp. Add the number, text "hi", answer two quick questions — your name and salary date — and you're set up. Nothing to download. No app store. No account creation.

Your data goes into a Google Sheet you own — not our servers. Budgy processes each message long enough to log it, then moves on. PDFs are read and discarded. We have no interest in your financial history beyond making the product work.

That's exactly what Budgy is built for. PDF import supports ICICI, HSBC (savings + credit card), AMEX, Swiggy HDFC, and Axis — each with tailored rules for what to include or skip. Store your statement dates per card and Budgy will alert you before losing interest-free days.
