Your financial conscience in WhatsApp
You already know
where it went.
That's not the problem.
The act of typing "lunch 280 Swiggy" is a small moment of noticing. That noticing — not the report it produces — is what actually changes how you spend. All of it, in the WhatsApp chat you already have.

tracks everything.
Nothing has changed.
Every competitor is racing to remove friction — your bank SMS auto-read, your transactions auto-categorised, you never have to think about it. The research says that's exactly the problem. Frictionless tracking gives you a report. It does not give you awareness.
When you type "lunch 280 Swiggy", you're not just logging. You're acknowledging. That four-second pause between spending and recording is the behaviour-change mechanism. The moment you choose to notice is the moment you're capable of choosing differently.
Budgy also knows when to encourage you. When you're ahead of pace with payday around the corner, it tells you. When you're 40% above baseline with 18 days to go, it tells you that too. The signal — positive or corrective — delivered at the right moment, is what makes new habits actually stick.
Three texts.
That's the whole setup.
01
Log it — intentionally
Text, photo, receipt, bank SMS screenshot, PDF statement — Budgy reads all of it. The friction of typing is the point. Four seconds of noticing does more than any auto-sync ever will.
02
It knows your real cycle
Not the calendar month. Your actual salary cycle — because your budget doesn't reset on the 1st. Summaries, baselines, and nudges all respect when your money actually arrives.
03
Hear from it early
Smart nudges, timed to your real spend pace. Not a notification you swipe away — a message from something that knows your full history and speaks plainly about what it sees.
Quietly doing a lot.
Loudly when it matters.
Most of what Budgy does runs in the background. It shows up in your WhatsApp when something actually needs your attention.
Logs anything you throw at it
Text, photo, receipt, bank SMS screenshot, PDF statement. Smart deduplication when you import a PDF you've already partially logged. Interactive category pickers when it's unsure.
9 nudge types. All context-aware.
Pace alerts, overspend warnings, 3-day lapse nudge, Friday digest with bar chart, pre-statement CC timing, morning follow-ups, evening check-ins, smart projections, and household discovery. Each timed to your actual spending rhythm.
Household expense tracking
Share categories with your partner or family. Each person messages Budgy 1:1, but summaries reflect combined household spending. Cross-notifications when someone logs a shared expense.
Billing cycle intelligence
Ask "when should I buy a laptop?" and Budgy picks the right card with the most interest-free days. It knows every statement date across all your cards and thinks about the calendar so you don't have to.
A conscience you can talk to
Ask "how much on Swiggy this month?" or say "fix all the Other entries." Budgy uses a spending knowledge graph and AI-generated weekly narratives to give answers grounded in your actual data, not guesses.
Salary-cycle summaries
Cycle-labelled summaries (Mar 27 → Apr 28, not "April"), discretionary vs committed split, weekly bar chart in your chat every Friday. Your real financial picture, not a calendar-month lie.
Embarrassingly
affordable.
No VC money. No freemium bait. Just a fair price for something that actually works. Your data stays in a secure database, never sold, never shared.
Add your partner or family. Everyone messages Budgy 1:1, but summaries reflect combined spending on shared categories. One household, one clear picture.

Good questions.
Those tools track after the fact. The value they sell is convenience — they handle it so you don't have to think. That's exactly the problem. Spending awareness built through deliberate, manual logging is associated with better financial behaviour. The friction is the feature. Budgy is for people who want to be conscious about money, not just informed about it retroactively.
No. Budgy lives in WhatsApp. Text "hi", tell it your name, start logging. It learns your credit cards and salary date gradually as you go, woven into the conversation. Nothing to download. No app store. No account creation.
Your data lives in a secure PostgreSQL database. Budgy processes each message long enough to log it, then moves on. PDFs are read and discarded. We never sell or share your financial data. You can export everything to CSV anytime.
Yes. Create a household, pick which categories to share (groceries, utilities, etc.), and invite them. Each person messages Budgy privately, but summaries combine shared spending. When your partner logs groceries, you get a notification. Personal categories stay personal.
That's exactly what Budgy is built for. PDF import supports ICICI, HSBC, AMEX, Swiggy HDFC, Axis, and more. Store your statement dates per card and Budgy tells you the best card for big purchases based on interest-free days remaining.
